Volunteer at Southside Soccer Club

Southside Soccer Club is a community driven organization providing wholesome fun for children 18 and under during the fall and spring, and an adult summer league. The Club operates with unpaid community volunteers, usually parents, who fill a variety of roles.

Why Volunteer?

If you have kids playing and want to strengthen their soccer experience, then getting involved is a great way to show your kids leadership while achieving your personal goals. The reason to volunteer is different for each individual, but all Club volunteers can expect a donation of their time.

Time commitments vary. Volunteers provide time for a day, such as working concessions, provide time for a season, such as being a coach, or provide time for the year, such as serving on the board or providing field maintenance.

Volunteers also get a chance to network with an extraordinary range of talent that all volunteers bring to the Club. New friends and connections are made every season. Expect camaraderie.

No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn, contribute, and be a part of something greater than yourself. If you bring any outside skills, enthusiasm, and passion, then you'll fit right in.

How do I Volunteer?

During registration, there is a prompt for parents and legal guardians to volunteer. Volunteer requests with registrations are reviewed. Please provide your contact information and someone will be in contact with you.

In-season, any current volunteer, including coaches, concession workers, or field workers, can point you to someone that can help. Generally, they'll direct you to the Club's board president or board member. From there, it comes down to what you want to do.

Off-season and anytime, email info@southsidesoccer.club and let us know your interest.

Our Volunteers are Awesome

The Southside Soccer Club is well known in the Danville and Pittsylvania County communities as a great community organization. The Club has achieved this with great, hardworking volunteers.

To encourage participation, Members of the Board and Head Coaches do receive a big perk. They receive one free registration per season. Once you're an established head coach, a code will be provided. If you're a first time volunteer head coach, then a registration refund will be given.

All volunteers get a tab in concessions during the season. This is especially important if you are volunteering and one or more of your kids are hungry. Please set up your tab with concessions, and let them know your kid's limit. Otherwise you may buy them a bucket of candy or be $50 poorer.
